Diriyah Storytelling Festival Wraps Up After Two Weeks of Literary Celebration

Diriyah, November 30, 2025: Diriyah Storytelling Festival, one of the Diriyah Season 25/26 programs, concluded yesterday in Al-Bujairi District, which throughout its history has served as a beacon of knowledge, a center of culture, and a gathering place for those passionate about learning, culture, and heritage during the First Saudi State.

This year, the festival served as a cultural platform hosting leading local and international authors, welcoming lovers of literature and narrative arts in a celebration of novels and storytelling in all its forms. The festival featured a variety of experiences that connected the deep tradition of oral storytelling with modern narrative tools, drawing on the historical and cultural significance of Al-Bujairi as an essential part of Saudi Arabia’s cultural memory.

Over the course of two weeks, Diriyah Storytelling Festival saw strong engagement from visitors, who found in its interactive workshops, inspiring evenings, lectures, and experiences an opportunity for exploration, reading, and direct interaction with the world of literature in enriching cultural surroundings. The festival offered a space to discuss modern trends linking writing with social reality and to explore the role stories play in interpreting change and shaping new perspectives on literature and life.

Diriyah Storytelling Festival also hosted more than 40 workshop sessions and panels in both Arabic and English, along with over 20 inspiring talks, featuring more than 30 speakers including authors and experts in storytelling and narrative.

By offering a literary experience that bridges past and present, Diriyah Storytelling Festival contributed to strengthening the authentic cultural identity of the historic Al-Bujairi District. It celebrated stories that reflect universal human experiences rooted in Saudi heritage and highlighted Diriyah as a global cultural center where stories and human experiences converge.

It is worth noting that Diriyah Storytelling Festival began on November 16, reinforcing Diriyah’s position as a cultural destination that elevates the value of narrative and gives literature a prominent presence in the cultural scene of Saudi Arabia as part of Diriyah Season 25/26, which presents more than 10 programs across 8 historical and natural districts in Diriyah.
