Diriyah, 11 January 2026: The story of resilience and sacrifice embodied by Imam Abdullah bin Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Saud has inspired visitors to Hal Al-Qusoor Program, one of the programs of Diriyah Season 25/26, prompting them to reflect deeply on the symbolism of heroism, loyalty, and love of the homeland. These values are vividly brought to life through live performances utilizing sound and lighting technologies at the historic palace of Imam Abdullah, the last Imam of the First Saudi State.

Visitors to the palace experience the atmosphere of the First Saudi State through narratives that recount details of the life of this great national figure. Imam Abdullah bin Saud was renowned for his wisdom, intelligence, and courage, and he bravely confronted the campaigns of the invading Ottoman forces, defending it vigorously till the end.

The historic palace of Imam Abdullah bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, whose construction dates back to the early 19th century AD, is located in the heart of the historic At-Turaif District, specifically to the southwestern side of Salwa Palace. It was built as the residence of Imam Abdullah bin Saud, who assumed leadership after his father during the period of 1814–1818 AD.

The palace consists of two floors comprising three main units, including residential chambers, halls and diwans for governance, councils dedicated to political and scholarly meetings, as well as majlis spaces for receiving guests. It also includes residences for guards and servants, along with storage areas for ammunition and supplies.

A notable aspect of the palace is its construction in the traditional Najdi architectural style, which showcases the grandeur and strength attained by the Saudi State during that era. This is clearly reflected in its sturdy and resilient architectural framework, marked by numerous columns and the incorporation of stone in its foundations.

Diriyah Season 25/26 contributes to achieving the vision of Diriyah Gate Development Authority by reinforcing Diriyah’s position as the cradle of the Saudi State and a permanent platform for cultural engagement. The season features programs that reflect authentic Saudi values through a contemporary approach, in alignment with the cultural and tourism objectives that are pillars of sustainable development under Saudi Vision 2030.
